What do you yearn for?
Nine-year-old Jake, the main character in the Animal Tales series, yearned to go to on safari- but his parents couldn't afford it. So Jake persuaded them to decorate the attic room like an African safari for his birthday; little did he know that the room would magically transport him to an African village.
In The Journey Begins Jake is taken to Africa to help the animals get rid of poachers. Jake had to face many of his fears during the journey to the poachers...and as he faced each one, more and more animals followed him. After his capture (and planned death) by the poachers, the animals worked together to save Jake...then they all worked together to save the day.
