Dr. Rhia in Dr. Rhia, Places, cowboy, epitaph, humor, tombstone

I was at Boothill Cemetery (Tombstone, AZ) a while back and we came across some odd epitaphs. It made me wonder what other curious epitaphs people have chosen. Below are a few I found:

Here lies Ezekial Aikle

Age 102

The Good Die Young

Here lies Ann Mann

Who lived an old maid

But died an old Mann

Here lies an Athiest

All dressed up

And no place to go.

Tears cannot restore her --

therefore I weep.

Here lieth Mary - the wife of John Ford.

We hope her soul is gone to the Lord.

But if for Hell she has changed this life,

Better be there than be John Ford's wife.

Here lies Pa.

Pa liked wimin.

Ma caught Pa in with two swimmin.

Here lies Pa.

Beneath this silent stone is laid

A noisy, antiquated maid,

Who from her cradle to her death,

And never before was out of breath.

Here lies returned to clay,

Miss Arabella Young.

Who on the eleventh day of May

Began to hold her tongue.

Grieve not for me my husband dear.

I am not dead but sleeping here.

With patience wait - perforce to die

And in a short time you'll come to I.

                      -----

I am not grieved, my dearest life.

Sleep on, I've got another wife.

Therefore, I cannot come to thee

For I must go and live with she.
