Colorado Theater Shootings
By now, most of us have heard of James Holmes, the 24 year old Coloradan who shot into a crowded movie theater during the opening of the newest Batman movie.
This overwhelms me with sadness. Raising children isn't easy in this day and age; Mr. Holmes' parents seemed to have done everything right...and that's the frightening thing. In the wake of each tragedy we all feel we want to do something to help. My suggestion is that we keep Mr. Holmes and his victims in our thoughts and prayers and that we hold our children close and tell them how much we love them.
For tragedies happen, and we never know when it may be our last opportunity to do so.
Hold your children close
and make certain they know how much you love them.

This is a situation that is overwhelming in sadness and helplessness. Good post, Rhia.
As always, thank you Sally. The more I learn about it the more I feel we're putting too much pressure for perfection on our youth.
