What Will YOU Choose?

I'm sure many of you have already heard about the 72 year old grandmother who was grossly bullied on a school bus by four youngsters. This lady's job was to monitor student behavior so that nothing got out of hand. But this day, the four boys turned their wrath toward her. If you've not seen the YouTube clip yet, please follow the link below.

Bullying

To me, this video brings to light once more how out-of-control bullying is and how nothing is going to change if all we do is sit back and tut-tut bad behaviors when we see them. Bullying is at epidemic levels and if we want to change things then we need to get involved! When we see unacceptable behaviors, we need to step in to help out. For if we do nothing, aren't we part of the problem rather than the solution?

I'm reminded of a famous quote by Irish politician Edmund Burke:

'All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.'

I'm not willing to do nothing anymore...are you?

I joined the Facebook group 'Bully' and am quite eager for the movie 'Bully' to come out. I think if parents were held accountable for the bullying their children do, it might push parents to action.

Like your earlier post on prejudice - it is taught!

Proactive parenting goes a long way!

I agree it's something children learn and parents need to be more involved and more accountable. But it can't just be on the shoulders of parents because children sometimes act wayward when they're away from their parents. Social pressure is immense in the teenage years.
