Virgin Tale

There's nothing better than seeing a self-made person succeed...except when that person has also overcome the challenges of dyslexia and ADHD. It would benefit us all to take advice from Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin group of businesses.

i would add that big item that is missing is that one has to be at the right place at the right time. I have known a few people who really worked hard but when it came to promotion the less abled boss who had sycophants around them wouldalways promote a like minded person so that their little empire would not be knocked . in my work as a musician i have felt that at times the fun had gone and i would have loved to have moved on but having made a commitment i just couldnt get up and go . Maybe in Richard bransons life lack of commitment maybe something he could do without thinking of the wider picture involving people who rely on you. When you read about people like Richard Branson what you dont hear about are the casualties that he created climbing his way to the top . Sorry to be cynical but in my opinion hes not on my list . Too may stories to say its a question of dont do what i do but do what i tell you.

an addendum to what i said .for information. Richard Bransons franchise for running trains in the UK is the second worse performer for complaints from passengers for poor service. Just goes to show that he's not as successful as one might think.

You're right in saying that there's also that element of luck involved in success. Richard Branson may have some character flaws but his success is still a bit of a Cinderella story don't you think? He didn't come from an influential family and when you add his dyslexia and ADHD to the mix it makes his success even more unlikely. In other words, he was an underdog and I like underdog success stories :)

Perhaps he's spread himself a bit too thin. There's a talent to knowing when to stop don't you think?
