Holiday Day #7

Dear Diary:

Today was one of those days when everything felt a little off. It began this morning when my husband accidentally threw the frisbee into the sea, losing it. We then decided to visit one of the museum/Victorian mansions on the island only to miss the tour by two minutes. No problem, we thought, we'll go to the other museum/Victorian mansion. We got there before the tour began...but it was full. So we decided to go on the car ferry to the mainland to explore...and got there as the ferry was pulling away.

At this point, it would have been easy to become frustrated. But I looked around and realized, in the words of Cynthia Ozick (American writer), "We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude." Things like:

and even...

 Who cares about frisbees and museums and ferries when you have a loving family?

Besides, tomorrow is a new day and we'll try again....
